South Dakota Salutes (SDS) is an event to show appreciation and support for those who serve and protect the citizens of South Dakota.
The two-day SDS appreciation event to be held on Monday and Tuesday, September 27-28, 2021 is funded solely through event sponsorships along with generous contributions from businesses and individuals.
All monies received are deposited with the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation. Funds received over-and-above the cost of hosting these events are placed in a special trust fund at the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation; these funds are designated to provide immediate funds to the families of South Dakota “First Responders” who have died in the line of duty.
By providing immediate funds to the families of South Dakota's fallen First Responders, South Dakota Salutes honors the family's sacrifices in support of their loved one's choice to serve and protect.
