Woonsocket VFD
Grant - January 11, 2023
Representatives from the Woonsocket Volunteer Fire Dept. traveled to Fedora, SD in early January 2023 to receive a grant from the South Dakota Salutes Special Needs Fund.
Using an application process managed by the Independent Insurance Agents of South Dakota we identified the Woonsocket Volunteer Fire Department to receive a $2,500 grant. Their IIASD grant request was submitted seeking funds to purchase battery powered lighting and other battery-powered tools that will be useful for their service in rural South Dakota.
Although that grant request was not originally selected from over 50 applications, a second review of the IIASD applications by a South Dakota Salutes team identified their request as one that would be supported.
This grant was made possible due to a generous donation to South Dakota Salutes from Sammons Financial Group Companies in Sioux Falls.
